Finding a Medical Marijuana Doctor in Alabama

Once the state opens the program, the process to get your Alabama medical marijuana card will include:

1. Confirming your eligibility: The AMCC has released a list of qualifying conditions. These conditions include:

   • Autism Spectrum Disorder

   • Cancer-related cachexia, nausea or vomiting, weight loss, chronic pain

   • Crohn's Disease

   • Depression

   • Epilepsy or a condition causing seizures

   • HIV/AIDS-related nausea or weight loss

   • Panic Disorder

   • Parkinson's Disease

   • Persistent nausea

   • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

   • Sickle Cell Anemia

   • Spasticity associated with Multiple Sclerosis or spinal cord injury

   • A terminal illness

   • Tourette's Syndrome

   • A condition causing chronic or intractable pain

     
     

2. Meeting with a certified doctor: Patients will need to visit a licensed physician who has been approved by the state to recommend medical marijuana. Once we can see patients, Alabama Marijuana Card will connect you with our trusted, state-approved doctors.

   
   

3. Receiving a physician certification: If your condition qualifies, the doctor will issue a written certification, which is required to apply for your card.
