How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in Alabama

Alabama Marijuana Laws

On May 17, 2021, Governor Ivey signed SB 46 into law. That means that even though medical marijuana isn’t available here yet, it will be soon.

The program should be up and running by Spring 2024, and patients will be able to receive their recommendations! Alabama could have up to 37 dispensaries for medical marijuana products, which officials expect to be open by March.

The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission finished awarding licenses to companies for the new industry, including companies that will be authorized to dispense the products.
